Members, staff and partners combined to offer a great day of attractions to well over 200 visitors who enjoyed a lovely afternoon in the sun, capped by a fantastic trick shot routine by world famous trick shot artist Jeremy Dale.
Members volunteered to set up and run the many attractions; the greens staff laid out their machinery and set up a special course for footgolf and speedgolf; head chef Pascal set up a very popular hog roast, while his daughter Lucy demonstrated the netball skills that have made her a member of the prestigious Wasps team and an England junior international.
Head PGA professional Steve, teaching professional Sam and assistant Ryan helped youngsters of all ages with putting and chipping skills, whilst the youngest played garden games under the gazebo, and queued up for face painting by Bhav. When a fire engine arrived on the car park for a demo visit they were able to sit in the cab and turn on the blue lights and courseside just in time for the arrival of an ice cream van.
General Manager Tim and Judy helped ensure everything ran smoothly, and the club's partners, The Eastern demonstrated their culinary talents with delicious oriental samples.
Other club partners, The Travel Shop and Bishop Vesey Grammar School were also present to meet members and guests with special offers on the day.
Organiser Lawrie thanked all the teams for their commitment to their club and said it showed that Walmley is somewhere special.
Jeremy Dale, who has performed all over the world, told the crowd that he would love to see more golf clubs around the UK follow Walmley's example, opening its doors to offer a great day to families, friends and neighbours.
