Visiting Golfers and Societies to Walmley Golf Club, Sutton Coldfield,
West Midlands.
Notes for Organisers of Visiting Societies:
- Walmley Golf Club welcomes Visiting Societies of approved status
and hopes they
will enjoy the facilities of the course and clubhouse.
- All visitors are asked to take extreme care upon entering the drive
into the course
and await the security bollard to disengage fully and the light
turn to green.
- Having parked you are then asked to make our Professional - Chris
Wicketts . .
or his assistant Rebecca Wright- aware of your arrival. They will then
provide you
with the clubhouse/changing room entrance code and car park exit number.
If you call at the office then either my assistant Judy McIntyre or
myself will be pleased to help you.
Changing of dress or shoes on the car park is not allowed.
Please use the locker rooms (it is advisable not to leave belongings
in the locker rooms)
locker keys are available from the professional at a cost of a £1.00
that is refundable.
Make sure all vehicles are secure and belongings are out of sight.
- All green fees and catering fees must be paid on the day. A deposit
of £5 a head is payable
and should be sent with the Reservation Sheet when confirming your booking.
Playing members of Walmley Golf Club do not pay a green fee. No reduced
fee is available
by introduction.
In the event of a cancellation or reduced numbers attending:
a) If Societies or Companies have to make a cancellation,
at least 28 days
will be required prior to your booked date; or else they will incur
a charge
of £5 per person based on original numbers to attend.
b) If the number of people attending is less than the original
number
on the Registration Form a charge of £5 per person will be
made.
- Catering arrangements.
You will have received our standard society menu and at least 7 days
notice of your requirements
should be given to the Club Caterer, Mr Pascal Parize. This should be
done on the society booking
form and you may contact Pascal direct on 0121 373 0029 ext 3.
A cancellation charge of £5 per meal will be levied on any meal
ordered but not taken, unless
changes are notified at least 2 days before the visit.
- Play must commence from the 1st tee unless prior arrangements have
been made with
the Club Secretary, and will be from the yellow tee markers.
- All players are required to conform with the Rules and Etiquette of
Golf and should possess
an official Club handicap, to be brought with them on the day.
- Only trolleys with wide wheels are allowed to be used on the course.
- Walmley is proud of its clubhouse standards and expects members and
visitors
to conform to the dress standard laid down as follows:
a) Mixed Lounge - Smart casual dress at all times.
b) Dining Room - Smart casual dress unless specifically stated.
c) Gents Lounge - Jacket, collar and tie at all times.
d) Outside clothing must be left in the locker room.
The following are not considered acceptable anywhere on the course or
in the clubhouse.
Denim jeans, training shoes, track suits, shirts without collars and
combat type trousers.
In the clubhouse, golf shoes are only allowed in the locker room.
No golf shoes are allowed on the balcony.
Gentlemen wearing shorts are not allowed in the clubhouse other than
in the locker room
or on the balcony, socks worn with shorts must be white and may be knee
length or
of the shorter sports sock type.
- Mobile Telephones:
The making or receiving of calls on mobile phones is restricted to the
car park and locker rooms.
In all other areas of the Club they must be switched off or set in silent
mode and may only
be used to summon assistance in an emergency.
- Members expect that they will suffer some inconvenience from the presence
of Visiting Societies,
but organisers should ensure that such inconvenience is kept to a minimum.
