Men's Turkey Trot - Saturday 10th December 2022
Following the clubhouse re-opening the Men's Turkey Trot was played on 17th December. The event was a 4 ball Texas scramble with 68 members braving the freezing temperatures.
Before venturing out into the cold for the shotgun start at 10:15 bacon rolls, tea and coffee warmed all the players as the draw for teams and tee times were made.
As per tradition with the event, Brandy and Port were provided by the competitions committee at the starter hut which warmed up some of the players bodies.
Following play all players returned to the clubhouse for a Turkey Dinner prepared by Lee and His catering team.
Despite the weather conditions, which made for some very interesting shots, the course prepared by Jamie and his staff played incredibly well and all the scores were very close to each other.
The winners
1st Place: Mike Osborne, Dave Long, Stuart Jay and Phil Hewitt – Scored 54.1 Nett and received £40 Clubhouse credit each
2nd Place: Tom Jones, Phil Hayward, Martin Davis & Karl Cross – Scored 55.0 Nett and received £30 Clubhouse credit each
3rd Place: Peter Bowley, Jeff Faulkner and Nick Lake – Scored 55.8 Nett and received £20 Clubhouse credit each.
